The news was received with great surprise.  Despite the general decline of bricks-and-mortar stores, colette has managed to stay on top of their game due to its product good choices and inventive collaborations such as with Nike, Happy plugs, Hello kitty, Adidas, etc.

The store was founded in 1997 by Colette Roussaux, but was managed by her daughter Sarah Andelman.  According to colette’s statement, the closure is due to Roussaux stepping down: “Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she would like to take her time; and colette can not exist without Colette.”

However, the location of the store is very prestigious. Collecte is located on Rue Saint Honoré one of the high end fashion streets. one location that seems that was quickly took over by the fashion powerhouse Saint Laurent which prompt rumors of the brand buying Collete out of that address.
